Recipe search for Eat Your Books members, on iOS and Android.

what it is

Sole mobile engineer

Built end to end: Firebase auth, Solr-backed recipe and book search over AWS Lambda, a filter system with live result counts, dark mode on Material 3, and crash reporting.

what I did

  • Removed duplicate search requests by keying effects on the serialised filter string.
  • Fixed an Android-only sign-in failure by moving password auth to the Identity Toolkit REST endpoint, covered by tests for ASCII, symbols and CJK input.

made with

Expo, React Native, TypeScript, Redux Toolkit, Firebase, Apache Solr, AWS Lambda, Jest
